Hi, I'm Kimberly Kelley

Owner and founder of SnoCo Candles, a female-owned and operated organic candle company rooted in Snohomish County, WA.

Our Story

SnoCo Candles grew out of a sincere love of all things candles colliding with a deep desire to cultivate that love — learning how to not only make candles, but to make quality, organic, clean-burning candles to share with the world, and YOU. Much more challenging than expected, but fully invested, I embarked on a knowledge quest through hands-on learning and community connections. I began taking candle classes around Seattle, meeting other candle makers who'd started this journey before me — learning what made their businesses unique, what they loved about candle making, and what advice they'd give someone just starting out.

What resonated was: just keep going. Keep learning, keep making candles, keep asking questions, and keep pushing yourself to reach out to people in the community. I'm grateful for that advice. I've kept going — and have grown from a passion project into a full inventory of quality scents, while building meaningful relationships with other female business owners along the way.

What's Inside Every Candle

  • 100% Organic Coconut & Soy Wax — We use only plant-based, organic wax. No paraffin, no petroleum byproducts, no synthetic fillers. Our wax burns cleaner and longer than conventional store-bought candles.
  • 100% Braided Cotton Wicks — Pure cotton, nothing else. No lead, no zinc, no synthetic fibers. Just a clean, even burn every time.
  • Thoughtfully Sourced Fragrances — We hand-select our fragrance oils with care, prioritizing natural and phthalate-free options that are safe for you and your home.
  • No Artificial Ingredients — What you smell is what you get. We don't cut corners with synthetic additives.

How We Make Them

  • Handcrafted in Small Batches — Every candle is made by hand in our home studio in Washington. Small-batch production means less waste, more attention to detail, and a product that's never mass-produced.
  • Made Locally in Washington — Keeping production local reduces our carbon footprint and supports the Pacific Northwest community we love.
  • Not Factory-Made — When we say handcrafted, we mean it. These candles are made by me — not outsourced to a production facility.

Vessels Designed to Last

  • Reusable & Repurposable Vessels — Our terracotta pots, ceramic vessels, and glass containers are intentionally chosen to be beautiful long after the candle is gone. Use them as planters, jewelry holders, or décor. We believe in the circular economy — buy once, use forever.
  • Terracotta as Plant Starters — Our terracotta vessels make perfect plant starters once your candle is finished. Just scoop out any remaining wax and give it new life.
